What it does

WhyMark as a research organizer

Research is 10% finding and 90% refinding. WhyMark organizes saves around the question they answer — so the library works like your memory, not like a filing cabinet.

Questions, not folders

Your note holds the research question. Search the question later and the sources come back — even when titles share no words with it.

Projects get collections

One collection per project or chapter. Threads across projects get tags. The triage inbox absorbs everything in between.

Evidence stays attached

Auto title, cover, and icon arrive on their own. You add the one line only you know: why this matters.

An example save, from capture to recall

  1. 1. Paste a source URL and add a note: “Counterexample for the research question on memory”.
  2. 2. Keep it in your “Research project” collection; add a tag if it spans projects.
  3. 3. Later, search “counterexample” to match the words in your note.

A simple research flow

Save fast during discovery — paste the link, add one line, move on. Triage weekly: keep to a collection, skip for later, delete the misses.

At writing time, search your questions. The library answers with the sources you already vetted.

Questions

How is this different from a read-it-later app?

Read-it-later stores the article. WhyMark stores the context: your note, tags, and collection — and searches all of it.

Can I import my existing bookmarks?

Not yet — an importer ships with the browser extension on the roadmap.

The link didn't change. The memory did.
