Who it's for

WhyMark for writers

Sources, references, inspiration — writers save constantly and cite rarely. WhyMark keeps what each link was for, so the draft never loses its evidence.

Sources with their purpose

“Background for the caching piece” stays attached to the link. When the editor asks, you know exactly why each source is there.

Swipe file without the mess

Collect examples, phrases, and references by project. Tags beat folders when one link serves two pieces.

Revisit without re-reading

Your note summarizes what mattered. Search finds the source; the note reminds you what to say about it.

An example save, from capture to recall

  1. 1. Paste a source URL and add a note: “Evidence for the article about remote work”.
  2. 2. Keep it in your “Article sources” collection; add a tag if it spans projects.
  3. 3. Later, search “remote work” to match the words in your note.

How writers use it

Save with the angle in mind — the note is the future lede. Collections per piece, tags per theme.

When drafting, search the idea, not the title. The reason you saved it is the reason you're writing.

Honest limits

WhyMark is pre-launch: no extension, no mobile app, no export yet. Early saves are added by hand in the web app.

Questions

Can I export my sources?

Not yet — there is no self-serve export today, and it's on the roadmap before we'd ever ask you to pay.

What does it cost?

Pricing isn't set — the waitlist gets in first and shapes the plan.

The link didn't change. The memory did.
