Privacy Policy
Your library is yours.
Plain-language privacy: what we hold, what we never touch, and what you can ask of us. Last updated October 2026.
What we collect
Account data: when you join the waitlist we store your email address. When accounts open, we store what you give us at sign-up — nothing more.
Library data: the bookmarks you save — URLs, titles, descriptions, notes, tags and collections — plus metadata we fetch from public pages (titles, cover images, favicons).
Technical data: standard server logs (request time, coarse network info) needed to run and protect the service.
What we never collect
No ad trackers, no cross-site cookies. We count page visits in aggregate to know the site works, but we do not fingerprint your device, we do not buy data about you, and we do not sell anything we hold.
How we use it
Your library data exists for one purpose: to run your library — saving, searching and showing your bookmarks back to you. Your email is used for one launch email and essential service messages (security notices, major changes).
Where it lives
Data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Workers + D1) in the regions Cloudflare operates. Backups live alongside the database and inherit the same protections.
Who sees it
Nobody else. There is no ad network and no data broker with access — visit counts stay aggregate, never tied to you. We disclose data only if the law compels us — and we will tell you first unless a court order forbids it.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until launch plus a reasonable wind-down window, then deleted on request or in bulk. Library data lives as long as your account does. Delete your account and we delete your library with it.
Your rights
Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion — write to the address below and we act within 30 days. EU/UK users hold these rights under GDPR; California users under CCPA; everyone else gets the same treatment because it is the right default.
Children
WhyMark is not for under-13s. If we learn a child signed up, we delete the account and its data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email waitlist members and account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
